Future Plans….

Village of HOPE
The Village of HOPE is where families can access all services at one location. We are able to do this by establishing partnership with many organizations, agencies and businesses that will satellite at our facility. We will also continue to develop programs and services that do not yet exist, but that are desperately needed.

Resource-CenterHere are the services we plan to offer at the Village:

  • Case Management
  • Access to clothing, food and other basic essentials
  • Educational Programs (Basic Life Skills, skilled Labor, Apprenticeship programs, Advanced Training)
  • Financial Management services
  • Counseling
  • ACCESS Computer Center
  • Mentorship Programs
  • Community Garden

We believe that by giving our clients the training needed to attain good paying jobs, that this will move them out of the cycle of poverty and/or homelessness. To establish these programs we plan to work with local businesses, other organizations and local community colleges and Universities. We also plan to utilize volunteers that can give training courses on their specific areas of expertise. We will continually develop partnerships with the other service agencies in the county to enable us meet the needs of our families more effectively. Our goal is to focus on prevention and promote accountability so individuals and families can take the steps necessary to move on to self-sufficiency.

Educational programs - We plan to initiate a tradesman or apprenticeship type training program here in Seminole county. This program will include plumbing, electrician, carpentry, and other skilled labor jobs. This will enable our clients to go out and attain good paying jobs and move them out of the cycle of poverty and/or homelessness. To establish these programs we plan to work with local businesses, other organizations & retired volunteers to come in to give training courses on their specific areas of expertise. We are also in communication with the University of Central Florida, Seminole Community College & Valencia Community College and plan to utilize their graduate students to provide the man power needed to successfully implement these programs in partnership with HOPE.

Family Housing - There is a desperate need for housing for families in Central Florida. At the present time, there are no shelters or transitional living facilities for intact families anywhere in Seminole County and very limited availability anywhere in Central Florida. As a result, families have to live in their car, in the woods, or in a cheap motel just to be able to be able to keep their families together. We want to develop transitional housing and scattered site housing, where families can stay intact and get the time necessary to get through their crisis and on the road to self-sufficiency. There is also a tremendous need for affordable housing and we plan to remain involved in the process to make sure this happens in the Central Florida area in the near future.
