| Future Plans…. |
We believe that by giving our clients the training needed to attain good paying jobs, that this will move them out of the cycle of poverty and/or homelessness. To establish these programs we plan to work with local businesses, other organizations and local community colleges and Universities. We also plan to utilize volunteers that can give training courses on their specific areas of expertise. We will continually develop partnerships with the other service agencies in the county to enable us meet the needs of our families more effectively. Our goal is to focus on prevention and promote accountability so individuals and families can take the steps necessary to move on to self-sufficiency. Family Housing - There is a desperate need for housing for families in Central Florida. At the present time, there are no shelters or transitional living facilities for intact families anywhere in Seminole County and very limited availability anywhere in Central Florida. As a result, families have to live in their car, in the woods, or in a cheap motel just to be able to be able to keep their families together. We want to develop transitional housing and scattered site housing, where families can stay intact and get the time necessary to get through their crisis and on the road to self-sufficiency. There is also a tremendous need for affordable housing and we plan to remain involved in the process to make sure this happens in the Central Florida area in the near future.
